I prefer black-and-white photography because it allows me to take full control of the process - especially in the darkroom. What matters to me, is the print on paper, not the negative or a fleeting file.
From time to time, I build my own cameras or work with old or primitive equipment. My intention is to return to the original magic of photography - to rediscover the medium, free from excessive technology.
More recently, I have become increasingly interested in color photography. Sometimes I colorize black and white photographs afterwards - not to imitate reality, but to add an emotional dimension.
However, my work does not end with the one print. My projects usually result in a book or a printed product. Editions are limited to 20 up to 200 uniquely designed and carefully made copies printed on fine paper.
